Appointed as Consulting Civil and Structural Engineer by Mowlem plc to deliver a new build development of 150 bed student accommodation on a restricted city centre site.  The construction involved an eight storey steel framed building with composite concrete floors all supported on bored piles.  The sloping nature of the site required the formation of a contiguous bored pile retaining wall.  A bar/lounge is located within the basement with student accommodation rooms on the upper floors.  Specific responsibilities included the design and detailing of all structural element works associated with the foundations, basement construction, suspended composite floors and steel frame.
